Family Photography and Portrait Session guide

Family and portrait sessions with me focus on capturing you or your child's personality and quirks, the bond you share, and the moments of life that you never want to forget. I love to engage with my clients and really bring out their true character with a few easy steps.

  1. Before your session, we will chat on the phone or via email

  2. Collect and share with me 3-5 photos that you like, this allows me to see your true style and what you are looking for out of your session in mood, light, and location.

  3. Choose your outfits and send me some photos and I can help you make all those wardrobe decisions

  4. If anyone wears transition lenses, please keep in mind the will appear as sunglasses in photos. I suggest taking the lenses out of an old pair of frames to be photographed in.

  5. Make sure to fill me in on all the details of you and your family, let me know if there is anything I should know.

  6.  On the day of the shoot, prepare for an awesome time, no stuffy portrait experience here; I am a real person, not a chain store, and I will have you comfortable in front of my lens in no time, so I can actually capture you for you!

  7. For kids 3 and older, bribes can work, stay away from chocolate or anything that will get in their teeth, Smarties work well and I oftentimes have a few rolls of them in my bag ready to go!

  8. Once we are done, I will head home and begin my editing process and cull through the images and get the gallery ready for you to view, this can take up to two weeks in the busy fall season.

  9. Choose your products! This is the fun part, time to decorate with your photos, I offer digitals, albums, wall art, cards and so much more. If you can dream it I can make it happen!
